The tragic events over the past week in Melbourne proves young people have no respect for our laws or legal system.

Look at the individual events in one single week..

-:- Deaths of five young people in Sunday’s Mill Park crash

-:- Drunken mob attacks driver after accident

-:- Mourners turn on media at crash victim’s funeral

-:- Drunk driver causes havoc at crash funeral

-:- Indian cabbie ‘stabbed after handing over cash

-:- Car of young driver confiscated for hoon behavior and his licence suspended

-:- Three young drivers caught doing 100 km/h in a 60 km/h zone

-:- Driver rams a police van

-:- Bosnian and Serbian youths ejected from Melbourne Park after a chair-throwing brawl not to mention the Nazi salutes

The list goes on…

An indication of their lack of respect for anything, mourners turned on the press covering the tragedy showing they believe they deserve some sort of respect themselves.  The press have a right to cover this type of tragedy to inform and educate people of the dangers of drinking and driving.  Melburnian’s deserve to know what is happening in their city, and the only way we can do this is through the media.

Premier John Brumby said the Government would now consider hard-line measures such as crushing or selling the cars of hoon drivers, the police instead veered into the realm of psychology. Police Deputy Commissioner Ken Lay appealed to parents and young people for help in controlling ‘hoon behaviour’, saying: “You’ve got to take some more responsibility in this.”

It’s all talk.. every single day we hear of drunken drivers, suspended drivers, repeat offenders, hoon drivers, speeding drivers, when is it going to stop?  The

It’s time for change!  It’s time the Government introduced laws that have a real impact on the young who have grown up with a culture of “we can get away with anything”.

How is it that a suspended driver can be repeatedly caught driving?  How about 2 strikes and you’re out!  Crush his car!

How is it that drivers with ‘drink driving records’ reoffend and reoffend? How about 2 strikes and you’re out!  Crush his car! 3 strikes and jail.

Decent, law abiding Melbourne people are sick of it!

Buyer beware!  A bogus seller using the email address motduke@hotmail.com and IP: 203.45.118.138 is selling Pure British Bulldog Pups but once the payment is made, the seller vanishes into the night.

Under no circumstances should you buy anything or pay anything until you have not only spoken with the seller, but also establish the sellers identity and whereabouts.  Ask for multiple pics of the doggies for sale from different angles.

Never (never) erm did we make this clear, NEVER send anyone money by Western Union or Money Gram.

If you are wondering why this is relevant to Melbourne, then you should know this scammer has posted adverts all over Australia including some well known Melbourne web sites like Only Melbourne.  We have also managed to have a number of the ads removed from the web sites.

The murder of Indian student Nitin Garg in Melbourne has reopened the debate as to whether Melbourne is a racist city.

Australia overall is a multicultural society but nowhere is more evident of this than Melbourne.  Melbourne is home to hundreds of different nationalities from almost every corner of the planet.  Melbourne was built by immigrants from Europe, Asia, Africa and the America’s who came here on the promise of a new start.  Melbourne is the only city in Australia not settled by convicts but by free settlers who came because they chose to do so.

Greeks, Italians, Yugoslavs, Polish, the English and the Indians have settled here, grown up together, side by side in the Melbourne suburbs.  The very core of Melbourne culture is its wide range of influences and cultural styles.  Melbourne welcomes people from other cultures, countries and backgrounds.  Melburnian’s not only welcomes the cultural influences but embraces them on a daily basis.

The call by the Indian press places particular focus on Melbourne’s racist attitude, suggesting Melbourne to be the epicentre of Australia’s racism and warning students that it is no longer safe.

Does the Indian press accuse every city any time an Indian dies anywhere in the world?  Does it call them all racist?

With hundreds of nationalities living side by side, doesn’t it seem strange that one nationality sticks out.  Melbourne is racist against Indians according to the Indian press but what about all the other nationalities.  Surely a truly racist city would not just pick on one nationality.

Can the Indian press be trusted at all with their comments.  How can one point the finger until there is undeniable proof that the murderer did so on racist grounds, in other words, innocent until proven guilty.

The only outcome of the Klu Klux Klan cartoon was to further incite trouble and anger. It was offensive in the least to the very people that serve to protect our community, the Victorian police.
